The deepest and sharpest image of space was revealed earlier today by the NASA.
This is a photo taken by the world’s most advanced telescope, the Space Telescope James Webb.
As the head of NASA, Bill Nelson, pointed out, essentially thanks to this image we see what the universe was like more than 13 billion years and since we know that the universe is 13.8 billion years old then we are going back to its beginning.
He explained that there will be so much accuracy in the images that it will show whether the planets are habitable or not.
“And when you look at something as big as this, we’re going to be able to answer questions that we don’t even know what the questions are yet,” he added.
It is the furthest humanity has ever seen in both time and distance, closer to the dawn of time and the edge of the universe, with part of the image showing light from shortly after Big Bang.
The photo was released last night and specifically shows a galaxy cluster called SMACS 0723 and is the first of many to be revealed in the coming days.
The US president described this technological achievement as historic Joe Biden.
The first image from the Webb Space Telescope represents a historic moment for science and technology. For astronomy and space exploration.
And for America and all humanity. pic.twitter.com/cI2UUQcQXj
