Nintendo recommends not using Switch on days above 35°C

by

Nintendo has recommended that Switch owners do not use the console in temperatures above 35°C, in view of the heat wave that has hit Japan in recent weeks.

On Twitter, the company’s customer support profile said that using the video game in hot regions can put it into sleep mode automatically. The ideal ambient temperature should be between 5°C and 35°C.

Nintendo also warned that the console’s air intakes must be unobstructed to improve internal ventilation and prevent components from heating up. Notices were posted only on the Japanese company profile.

In June, the government of Japan urged the population to take the necessary measures to protect themselves from the heat and avoid heat stroke. The thermometer reached 40.2°C in the city of Isesaki, which is 100 kilometers north of Tokyo, the highest temperature recorded in the country in the month of June.
