The spacecraft was launched today Friday sending JUICE of the European Space Agency (ESA) to Jupiter and its moons.

The launch took place at 3.15 pm. Greek time with the Ariane 5 spacecraft, while 28 minutes later, JUICE separated from the spacecraft to continue its journey.

The aim of the mission is to make detailed observations of the gas giant Jupiter, where expected to reach eight years, and its three frozen moons (Ganymedes, Callisto and Europa). around which it will make 35 passes.

The launch was originally scheduled for yesterday, but weather conditions at the space center in French Guiana, South America, necessitated a one-day postponement.
