SpaceX’s Starship spacecraft, intended for missions to the Moon and Mars, managed to land in the Indian Ocean for the first time after completing its test flight, lasting about an hour.

“Docking confirmed” wrote billionaire Elon Musk’s company on Platform X. During the live broadcast of the flight, however, it appeared that the spacecraft lost some of its power before completing its course.

“Congratulations and a huge thank you to the amazing teams at SpaceX,” said Gwen Shotwell, the company’s number 2.

“Congratulations to SpaceX on the Starship flight test device,” NASA chief Bill Nelson also said. “We have taken another step towards returning humanity to the Moon,” he added.

This was Starship’s fourth test flight, its goal being to return the spacecraft safely to Earth after the previous three failed.
