THE Apple unveiled its new feature set on Monday artificial intelligence, Apple Intelligence, which the Cupertino-based tech giant characterized as “the next big step”.
As part of the presentation of the new version of the operating system iOS 18, Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering said that Apple Intelligence introduces new tools that are available system-wide, improving the user experience. These tools can rewrite, correct and summarize text, and are available in Mail, Notes, Safari, Pages, Keynote, and third-party applications.
In addition, Apple Intelligence can perform tasks such as retrieving files, searching for photos or playing podcasts. Siri, the virtual assistant on Apple devices, will also benefit from artificial intelligence, being able to answer “thousands of questions,” among other capabilities.
“Recent advances in production intelligence and large language models offer powerful capabilities that provide the opportunity to take the experience of using Apple products to new heights,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple.
