WhatsApp should soon launch a feature aimed at creating polls in groups. The new functionality of the application is still being tested only in the beta version for iOS, Apple’s operating system, and has no official release date.
According to the WABetaInfo website, which specializes in application updates, the novelty arrived with version 22.6.0.70. For now, it’s only available on TestFlight, Apple’s service that allows developers to test build versions of their programs.
The screenshot released by the page this Saturday (5th) shows a field to enter the question to be sent to the group, but details such as the number of options and anonymization of votes were not mentioned.
The site also informs that the feature will have end-to-end encryption, as well as common messages, so that only people who are in the group will be able to see the polls and results.
The polling functionality is available on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram –also owned by Meta–, Twitter and Telegram, WhatsApp’s main competitor.
The company has yet to officially confirm the release of the feature.
