The mystery for the construction of Stonehenge can finally be resolved, as a new study offers answers to 5,000 -year -old questions – mainly who and how it has built the prehistoric, megalithic monument.

Researchers at Aberystwyth University studied “boulder Newall» – A football ball -sized stone discovered during an early excavation at Stonehentz in 1924 – and concluded that it was transferred to the monument by the residents of the Neolithic Communities of the Salisbury plain in England.

Professor Richard Bevins and his team compared the boulder Newall with stones at Craig Rhos-Y-Felina rocky ledge on the north side of the Preseli mountains in Wales, more than 125 miles (200 kilometers.

If the prehistoric boulders had been moved there by the movement of huge prehistoric glaciers, then they would have scattered similar pieces – like the Newall block – throughout the Stonehenge area, and would not have been found only in today’s archaeological site.
