Ray Liotta: Scorsese and De Niro excitedly say goodbye to their friend from Goodfellas

Sadness prevails in Hollywood from him sudden death of actor Ray Liota at the age of 67.

Their special farewell to the actor of Goodfellas, said the great director Martin Scorsese and the great actor Robert De Niro.

Scorsese, who directed both Liotta and De Niro in the famous 1990 gangster film, described him as a “uniquely gifted” and “courageous” performer.

De Niro said: “I was surprised to learn of Ray’s death.” “He was too young to leave us.”

Liota died in his sleep while in the Dominican Republic. He was there for the filming of Dangerous Waters.

Scorcese said he was “absolutely shocked and devastated” but also very proud to have had the opportunity to work with him.

“Playing Henry Hill in Goodfellas was a big deal, because the character had so many different aspects, so much complexity, and shooting for Ray was a long and hard process in almost every scene.”

“I was absolutely surprised and I will always be proud of the work we did together in this film,” said the great director.
