Former British Business Secretary and former Conservative leader Andrew Lentsom has been added to the list of Tory MPs who have publicly criticized Prime Minister Boris Johnson for the partygate.
In a letter to voters she comments that after reading it Sue Gray’s exhibition on Downing Street parties has concluded that “it is extremely unlikely that senior leaders did not know what was going on.”
He adds that “There have been unacceptable leadership mistakes which can not be tolerated and are the responsibility of the Prime Minister “.
According to Ms. Lenzom, she and her colleagues Conservative MPs “We must now decide on the right course of action that will restore confidence in our government.”
Her letter was preceded on Monday by public criticism of three other lawmakers. Eliot Colburn had even stated that he had submitted a letter of no confidence to the competent party committee in 1922, as had Andrew Bridgen.
The latter re-submitted the letter of distrust which he had withdrawn after the positive handling of Mr. Johnson regarding the war in Ukraine.
Former Minister of Culture and former Attorney General Jeremy Wright also criticized the resignation of the Prime Minister.
Three other lawmakers, including House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Tagenhat, made ambiguous statements that were seen as indirect criticism of Mr Johnson.
A total of 27 Conservative MPs have voted in favor of the immediate resignation of the Prime Minister, with most saying they have submitted a letter of no confidence. A total of 40 have questioned Mr Johnson’s stay in office.
If the 1922 Commission receives 54 letters of distrust, then a vote is automatically taken in the parliamentary group for a possible removal of the Prime Minister.
