Despite warnings from religious fanatics, thousands of people took part in Israel’s annual Jerusalem Pride Parade.

This year is the 20th LGBT+ parade in the capital and the first since the first pandemic.

The photo shows some 7,000 participants wandering the street, waving a rainbow-colored flag and dancing.

However, the Israeli police was forced to intervene and arrest three alleged threats to the case. Two of them found a baton, tear gas and gloves in the car.

After years of deadly violence, up to 2,400 officers were used to defend the procession.

At past Pride events, religious militants attacked evangelists. In 2015, an Israeli man stabbed and killed a 16-year-old white banker and stabbed several others. He was recently released in 2005 for a similar ambush.

Police said they had identified and monitored some 180 people who had made the threats.

Jerusalem has a large ultra-Orthodox Jewish community and several other conservative religious groups. Many residents are against the parade.

The organizer and some LGBT+ MP parents threatened him with death before the march.

“We do not allow the Pride Parade to take place in Jerusalem,” said Emna Kleinbernoy, director of the Jerusalem Open House Society. Jerusalem is a holy city. The fate of the White Bank is waiting for you.

Police said they had arrested a 21-year-old European citizen in Jerusalem on suspicion of police intimidation, following a warning (also sent to three members of parliament).

No other details were announced, but the police were reinforced during the march.

According to The Jerusalem Post, the threat was posted on Facebook and Twitter from a profile titled “Ishy Shrissel Brothers.”

barney said:

“On the other hand, this is an important reminder of the importance of the march on Jerusalem.

“I think the real response to this kind of encouragement and threat is that all those who support freedom, equality and pluralism in the State of Israel will come with us tomorrow.

“Our strength as a great and powerful being is the most obvious indication that the cry of LGBT hate exploding in our ears belongs to a very small and extreme minority.
