The burger will have either two of the same buns or two of the same buns – Social media reactions.

This is not an ordinary burger… The new hamburger of the well-known fast food chain Burger King, which was created to celebrate Pride Month, has caused a stir on social media.

The fast food giant stores in Austria will serve one Pride Whopper with “two equal buns” – that is, either two of the same buns or two of the same buns – until June 20 to promote “Equal love and equal rights” , the company said in its Instagram post last week. The motto is Time to be Proud

Burger King states in the post that “Small upset” at the new burger is intended to “give a smile to our faces and remind us to treat each other with respect and peace”.

Some social media users found the new burger a joke, while others criticized the company, arguing that the move was offensive and a purely superficial practice of claiming the rights of the LGBTQI + community.

“Burger King Austria made a Pride burger that is either two up or two down (buns) … what about the fourth?” Netflix CEO Jarrett Wieselman responded to a tweet on Friday.

But an Instagram user, who goes by the name unacornium, saw the funny side of the story.

“As a gay man, this is the funniest thing I have ever seen and I do not think I will ever stop laughing,” unacornium said Monday.

It is not clear if Burger King intends to donate money from Pride Whopper to LOATKI + organizations. The company did not immediately respond to CNN Business for comment.
