A 20-year-old man was honored after saving the lives of passengers when he fell on a live truck and was electrocuted.

Anthony Perry’s brand new car was delivered to his hero on Monday afternoon.

He arrived at the Chicago Transit Authority Red Line stop when he noticed a nearly unconscious man on the railroad’s electrified third rail.

Mobile phone footage showed Mr. Perry jumping over the rails and carrying the man to safety.

“I was hoping I could catch it and not feel a thing, but I was a little surprised,” he said.

“I really felt all of this in my body. I wasn’t allowed to do that.

With the help of another passenger, Perry performed CPR on a man who was injured by an electrical shock.

A 32-year-old passenger who has fallen under suspicion of getting into a fight with another man is taken to hospital and is expected to survive.

Police are still investigating the case that caused the man to fall, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Perry told CBS News: I’m not going to keep walking, God doesn’t want me to do that, so I acted urgently.

This video was shot by traveler Tabi Gim, who called it “surreal”.

ABC Chicago reported that they had another clip showing the two men fighting on the rails before the injured man had to be caught and rescued.
