The McDonald’s restaurant in Russia will be updated with a new name and logo after the American company has completely left the country due to the war with Ukraine.

The reset will begin on June 12, shortly after workers remove the cult golden arch from the Russian site. June 12 is also Russia Day, a national holiday that commemorates the withdrawal of the Soviet Union.

It starts at the former McDonald’s location in Moscow’s Pushkin Square, where the country’s first McDonald’s opened in 1990. According to TASS, 11 more locations will open in Moscow on the same day, opening three cities: Odintsovo, Reutov and Khimki. news.

The new restaurant chain has already released a new logo. This is a loosely stylized image of an “M” shaped burger and fries. But instead of McDonald’s internationally recognized red and gold color scheme, it’s painted in forest green and orange colors.

Meanwhile, the new name of the McDonald’s restaurant, renamed in Russia, has been kept secret. McDonald’s Russian app was renamed “My Burger” on Friday, but the company said it was just a location, not a permanent name.

Other names such as “Funny and Delicious”, “Same” and “The Only Way” have been spread and speculated in the Russian media.

McDonald’s stopped all operations in Russia on March 14. In May, the company announced that it would sell its base in Russia. This made it one of the largest US companies to leave Russia after launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. February.
