A man who wanted to be 240 miles away in Kent has been arrested by police after an attack in Manchester killed a teenager and seriously injured his mother.
Detectives are investigating the murder after a 15-year-old boy was killed and his mother, believed to be in her 40s, was stabbed to death with Miles plated on June 9.
A 44-year-old man was arrested in Manchester, Kent on Friday night. He apparently knew the victim.
Alicia Smith, Inspector Morse of the Detective, said:
“The teenager who was alive died tragically and his mother not only mourned the death of her son, but certainly brought back something very traumatic.
“Our thoughts remain with the family and we are ready to find out what happened.
“Detectives have been working around the clock since we first reported the incident and we are currently on the move. This is one step in getting the answers our families need.”
The ambulance service arrived at the address on Thursday at 9:30pm after an internal case was called by Manchester Police.
The 15-year-old boy was treated for the wound before being taken to hospital and died about an hour later.
His mother was also treated for serious injuries but is now said to be in stable condition in hospital.
DCI Smith said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we’d love to hear from anyone who has the information or is looking into something.”
