A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a suspected stolen van took the wrong direction and crashed into a taxi.
At around 10:45pm last night an accident circled Bradford House killing three people on the M606.
Both a 28-year-old taxi driver and a male passenger were found dead at the scene.
Van’s 18-year-old passenger died at the hospital this morning, and another 17-year-old passenger was seriously injured at the hospital but is receiving life-threatening treatment.
West Yorkshire Police reported the incident to the Office of Independent Policing as a police car was in the area at the time.
The 15-year-old driver was arrested in a dangerous car on suspicion of death and was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police say the marked police car couldn’t be stopped until the van got into the wrong lane and headed south on the expressway to Bradford.
The highway was closed overnight and reopened at 10 am today.
An IPOC spokesman said: “The Ford Transit van was not stopped by police until it hit a taxi after hitting the other side of the car on the M606.
“IOPC investigators are present at the scene and the police are following up on the case.”
