Alexei Navalny: He confirmed that he was transferred to another prison further away from Moscow

THE Alexei Navalny confirmed today that he has been transferred to another prison, further away from Moscow, which is notorious for ill-treatment of detainees.

On Tuesday, the opposition leader’s lawyers announced that the authorities had transferred him to another penitentiary, but did not know to whom, something that worried his associates and supporters.

“Good morning from (prison) high security. “Yesterday (Tuesday) I was transferred to IK-6” Melekhovo “, a (penitentiary) store located about 250 kilometers east of Moscow”, Navalny himself wrote in an Instagram post.

This prison is located near the city of Vladimir. In the past, there have been many journalistic investigations into the conditions prevailing there, following allegations of ill-treatment of detainees. A Navalny spokeswoman, Kira Yarmis, said in May that the prison was “one of the scariest in Russia” and that “prisoners are being tortured and killed.”

Navalny, 46, has so far been held in the Pokrov prison colony, about 100 kilometers from Moscow, which is considered one of the hardest in Russia.
