Seized Russian Amadea superyacht in Hawaii – Stunning images from the 300 million yacht

The 106-meter yacht sailed from the port of Lautoka in Fiji last week after the Supreme Court ruled that it had to leave the country because it was too expensive for local authorities to maintain.

The super yacht arrived in Hawaii Amadea seized last month in the Fiji Islands at the request of US authorities.

According to Washington, the luxury yacht – worth $ 300 million – belongs to Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov, against whom US and European sanctions have been imposed.

The US Justice Department’s KleptoCapture task force has been set up to seize yachts and other luxury assets belonging to Russian oligarchs as part of efforts to put pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin following the invasion of Ukraine.

The luxury yacht Amadea sailed to Honolulu on Thursday afternoon (local time).

He arrived in Fiji on April 13, after an 18-day trip from Mexico. The FBI reported that the superyacht had deactivated surveillance systems on February 24, shortly after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine – which Moscow calls a “special military operation” – in an effort to prevent its seizure.

Lawyers representing Amadea’s company, the Cayman Islands-based Millemarin Investment Ltd, denied in a Fiji court that the yacht belonged to Kerimov. They claimed that it was owned by the former head of the Russian oil company Rosneft, Eduard Khudainatov, but that no sanctions had been imposed on him.
