Passengers face the most difficult times in the UK. Conflicts between the RMT union train workers and disputes over fair wages and unemployment led to strikes.

Negotiations are underway, but rail delays are mounting as nothing has been decided yet.

And when speculation begins about strikes in other sectors (including teachers and the Royal Mail) and the phrase “summer of discontent” is whispered in the wind, how many and when are they many? I want to track them down.

Here’s what you can expect if a rail strike happens today and when the next one will be.

Is there a railway strike today?

Yes, today there is another strike.

And the riots are not over today as RMT union members continue to strike on Saturday June 25th.

Find out about the affected railways here and see our guide to trains still in service on LNER, Cross Country, Southern, Avanti West Coast and other railways.

It also shows how to check the complete strike schedule for the selected railway during the week.

There are no official strikes on Friday, but trains are expected to be delayed tomorrow, following today’s industrial rally.

There is no doubt that this behavior will affect other means of transport, such as bus congestion and the slowdown of the London Underground, and the roads will be more congested than usual.

When is the next rail strike scheduled?

Following the actions of June 23 and 25, more railway strikes could take place at the end of July.

TSSA members are currently voting on strikes that may affect railways such as Cross Country, LNER, c2c, Avanti West Coast, Northern, East Midlands Trains and West Midlands Trains.

Currently, the vote takes place in early July, and if members support it, strikes will be possible from July 20. However, it may take place at the same time as the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, which take place from July 28 to early August.

In a union statement, another possibility of a TSSA strike could be this time with more than 6,000 employees of the network’s rail workforce for July 11, starting on July 25.

Manuel Cortez, Executive Secretary of the TSSA, commented on the vote:

“Rail network staff demand basic protection of fair treatment. Don’t get fired. Fair rewards in the face of a cost of living crisis. And not a single run at the end of term…

“Until now, fat cat breeders have rejected these perfectly rational demands and always have to vote for industrial activity as a last resort.”
