Ukrainian forces continue to strengthen their positions on elevated ground in the city Lisichanskafter their retreat from Sieverdonetskreports in the latest update on war developments in Ukraine the British Ministry of Defense.
At the same time, they continue to disrupt Russian control and administration with successful blows deep behind Russian lines.
The ministry notes that between June 24-26, Russia launched unusually intense shock waves on Ukrainian territory using long-range missiles.
Among them were probably AS-4 KITCHEN missiles of the Soviet era, but also more modern AS-23a KODIAKwhich were fired from both Russian and Belarusian airspace.
As noted, “These weapons were designed to hit strategically important targets, but Russia continues to use them in large numbers to gain a tactical advantage.”
Similarly, the Russians have already deployed units from six different armies on the ground, but have nevertheless succeeded only in tactical level in Siverdonetsk.
“The Russian armed forces are becoming increasingly exhausted. “For the time being, they are accepting a level of degraded effectiveness in battle, but which is rather unsustainable in the long run.” concludes the briefing from the British Ministry of Defense.
