The Best Tourism Villages, according to the World Tourism Organization, is a global initiative to highlight these villages where tourism preserves cultures and traditions, celebrates diversity, provides opportunities and protects biodiversity.
THE “Lord of Halkidiki” Αρναίαfollowing a request and submission of a file by the municipality of Aristotle, was selected by the Ministry of Tourism together with two other villages in Greece, to represent our country in the Initiative under the name Best Tourism Villages of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
The municipality of Aristotle was officially informed by the Ministry of Tourism that the Working Group established by decision of the Deputy Minister Sofias Zacharakiin the final evaluation of the candidacies, prefers the participation in the Initiative of the municipalities of Aristotelis (Arnaia, Halkidiki), Igoumenitsa (Perdika, Thesprotia) and Sami (Fiskardo, Kefalonia).

In addition, highlighting the villages that are exceptional examples of tourist destinations with cultural and natural advantages, the institution makes the World Tourism Organization an ally of these villages in the effort for their further sustainable development.
«Following the emergence of Arnaia among the most beautiful villages in Greece by the American network CNN in 2019, this year the Ministry of Tourism officially singles out Arnaia as one of the three most beautiful villages in the country“, Said the mayor Aristotle, Stelios Valianos.
The mayor added that “We systematically use all the comparative advantages of the area and all the promotion opportunities, a fact that brings the municipality of Aristotle one step ahead. It can be realized what new roads of fame and traffic for our whole region, mountainous and coastal, opens this innovative initiative of ours».
