An 11-year-old boy who was struck by lightning and knocked off a boat has survived a horrific incident.
Levistock was returning from a family boating trip on June 30 when he was struck by lightning at Williams Park Boat Ramp in Riverview, Florida.
“I was talking to my dad. He said it was like knocking out Mike Tyson. I mean, his body went overboard and he started going under the water.” Said the Rev. Daniel Batson of Fishhawk Fellowship Church.
Levy was taken to Tampa General Hospital in serious condition.
Stock’s father told FOX13 chief meteorologist Paul Delegato that Levy was being treated.
“Great news on the 4th of July! Levistock, 11, who was struck by lightning on a boat at William’s Park in Riverview last week, is doing much better,” Delegateto writes. “His father texted me this morning saying he was out of ICU and he was fine.”

Witness Debbie Daniels was sitting on a boat ramp, looking at the light shining on the surface of the water. She said the woman was screaming for help and people were panicking and she soon found out someone had hit the boat.
“Someone was hugging him, pushing, pushing, pushing, sitting there trying to move his heart,” Daniels said. “And I knelt down, I prayed, I started crying, and what, it was terrible.”
It did not rain during the incident, Daniels added.
“It was beautiful, but I heard thunder and lightning in places,” he said.
According to Delegato, lightning can occur 7-10 miles from the lightning source, so even if you can see lightning from a distance, technically hearing lightning will cause lightning.
According to FOX 13, Florida ranks number one in the United States for lightning strikes. The chances of being attacked are less than one in a million each year, with nearly 90% of victims surviving. Yet Bolt kills about 20 people in the country each year and injures hundreds more.
A Lewy strike causes a fatal lightning strike to a woman and her two dogs as a thunderstorm passes through the area and she is taking a morning walk through the San Gabriel flood control district in Southern California. It happens a few days after being hit.
