Shinzo Abe Assassination: The Planet Shocked – Leaders’ Condolences

The shocked world watched as Japan’s former prime minister fell dead from a Japanese bullet while delivering a campaign speech.

The president of the European Council speaks of a “barbaric murder” of a “great man”, Charles Michel, in his message on the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

“I was deeply saddened to learn of his death Shinzo Abe. I will never understand the barbaric killing of this great man. Japan, Europeans mourn with you. My deepest condolences to his wife and family” notes Mr. Michel in his post on twitter.

“This barbaric and cowardly murder of Shinzo Abe shocks the whole world” emphasizes the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen in her message.

In her post on twitter, she added: “A wonderful man, a great democrat and champion of the multilateral world order has passed away. I mourn with his family, his friends and all the people of Japan.”

“The European Parliament stands by the people of Japan at this dark time,” says the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metzola in her message about the Abe assassination.

“Saddened and shocked by the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during a political event in Nara. My condolences to his family and to all the Japanese people,” notes Ms. Metsola in a post on Twitter.

The Secretary General of NATO also expressed his condolences, Jens Stoltenberg for “the heinous murder” of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

In particular, Mr. Stoltenberg said in a post on Twitter: “Deeply saddened by the heinous killing of Shinzo Abe, a defender of democracy and my friend and colleague for many years. My deepest condolences to his family, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and the people of NATO partner Japan at this difficult time.”

The Prime Minister of Belgium speaks of a “heinous attack” against Abe, Alexander De Croix: “I am deeply shocked by the heinous attack on former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. “Belgium sends its sincere condolences to his family and to the people of Japan,” Alexandre De Croix wrote on Twitter.
