Natural gas-Gazprom: We cannot guarantee the smooth operation of Nord Stream 1

Germany’s finance ministry declined to comment on Gazprom’s announcement that it does not have documents showing that Siemens received permission to bring a gas turbine for the Nord Stream 1 pipeline from Canada.

The Russian gas giant Gazprom stated today that cannot guarantee the good operation of the Nord Stream 1 pipelineserving Europe, saying it could not confirm that will retrieve a German turbine which had been sent to Canada for repair.

“Gazprom does not have any documents allowing Siemens to take the gas turbine engine out of Canada.” which Ottawa says however wants to return to Berlin, Gazprom said in a statement. “Under these circumstances, it is not possible to draw an objective conclusion regarding the development of the situation regarding the operation in full safety” of the pipeline, the group adds.

The German Finance Ministry declined to comment on Gazprom’s announcementaccording to which it lacks documents showing that Siemens received a permit from Canada to bring a gas turbine for the Nord Stream 1 pipeline.

We do not comment on statements by Gazprom“, said a representative for the ministry and added that Siemens announced that it is in the planning stage so that porting and deployment can take place as quickly as possible.
