A Ukrainian cargo plane carrying 11.5 tons of weapons has crashed in northern Greece, killing everyone on board.

Two hours after the blast, the blast was heard as locals saw a ball of fire light up the sky near the town of Kabbalah.

The Antonov An-12 freighter took off on Saturday from Nis, Serbia, and was en route to Amman, Jordan, when it crashed shortly before 11:00 p.m. local time.

A few minutes ago, a pilot on a Soviet-era plane operated by the Ukrainian freighter Meridian reported to air traffic controllers that one of his engines had a problem and he had to make an emergency landing.

They took him to Kavala international airport, but he did not get there.

Drone footage showed only small pieces of the plane. The debris crashed into a field between the two villages and was dragged a bit to the ground.
