Two American tourists were brutally attacked by saltwater crocodiles while swimming at a luxury resort in Mexico.

Originally from Colorado, Daniel Kuzvier and Joshua Roskievich were attacked by reptiles in Puerto Vallarta, a popular tourist town on the west coast of Mexico.

Kuzvier, an American insurance broker, was bitten while swimming in the ocean at night. According to Mexican authorities, the creatures bit him many times, injuring his legs, right arm, chest and abdomen.

He also suffered a head injury and lost two teeth, the Daily Mail reported.

When Kuzvier was attacked, Rosquitch swam into the water for help. He has an injury to his right hand and groin.

Daniel was underwater and Josh was on the beach. “The crocodile attacked Daniel, grabbed his leg, broke his leg and tried to knock him down,” Kuzvier’s mother-in-law, Royce Tori, told the Daily Mail. “Josh came over and started punching and kicking.”

The couple was treated by the first rescuer from the Jalisco Civil Protection Fire Department, who published a photo of the results. twitter..

Kuzvier and Rotkevic have been taken to hospital and are currently awaiting surgery.

Tourists stayed at the Hotel Velas Vallarta and room rates ranged from $973 to $4,123.

Hotel management has reportedly allowed Kuzbiel, Rothkiewicz and their families to rest until they recover from their injuries, Tholey said.

“I have to say that the management here was excellent. They came to the hospital. They were very supportive,” he said.

The attack comes about a year after 18-year-old Kiana Hummels was attacked by a crocodile in the same area. According to Mexico News Daily, Hummel’s life was saved after four bystanders, including a hotel worker armed with pieces of wood, fought off the reptiles.
