The 87-year-old driver crashed a red Kia car into a guardrail after trying to park on the wall after his birthday dinner.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Services were called to the Ivybridge site yesterday afternoon and seemed confused on arrival.

Various harness devices were used in the rescue operation.

Middlemoor’s Heavy Rescue Tender (HRT) vehicle was also involved in this scene.

Simon Carey, a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service response team, revealed the incident on Twitter.
