Vladimir Putin may have used a body double during his visit to Tehran, according to the Ukrainian director of military intelligence.
Russian leaders appeared uneasy as they walked down the steps of the Kremlin’s presidential plane, Maj. Gen. Kirill Budanov said.
He added that Putin seemed to be moving abnormally fast during his trip to the Iranian capital and seemed more attentive than in previous public places.
Another unusual display was when the president was animated when greeting guests instead of the usual neutral face.
Budanov said of the accusations on the Ukrainian news channel 1+1:
“Look at the moment Putin got off the plane. Putin?
According to Ukrainian sources, Budanov believed that “someone like Putin flew to Tehran to meet with the presidents of Iran and Turkey.”
As part of his visit, he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian leaders.
In front of Erdogan, Putin is accused of being conspicuously unpleasant and appearing strange.
But at that time Ukraine did not suggest that it was double.
During the visit, official Anton Gerashchenko posted in the telegram: “Prime Minister Erdogan insulted Putin during a meeting in Tehran.
“All the emotions of the humiliating and insulting Führer appear on his face.
“The bunker is really the perfect place to stay like this.”
The Ukrainian news agency UNIAN commented: “Dwarves do not like contempt.”
Putin admitted two years ago that authorities were considering using the double, but said he rejected the idea. And he added: “I rejected the double idea.”
He said that in the early 2000s, when Russia was hit by a terrorist attack, he was advised that person should replace him at an event where the head of state might be at risk…
“This was the most difficult moment in our war on terror,” he said.
Body doubles are reportedly used by former Soviet leaders like Joseph Stalin and Leonid Brezhnev.
Russian Putin experts, meanwhile, strongly disagree with the CIA’s claim that the Kremlin leaders are “very healthy” and show no evidence of multiple medical problems.
It is also claimed that Putin suffers from serious illnesses such as cancer, Parkinson’s disease and schizoaffective disorder.
