Russia is ‘violating its contractual obligations and blaming others’ for it, German economy minister insisted
“Explosion” of Robert Hambeck against Vladimir Putin. The German Minister of Economy yesterday Monday accused the Russian president of “duplicity” and that he is playing “games”, after reducing the amount of gas supplied by Moscow to Berlin through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline citing a technical problem with a repaired turbine located on German territory.
“There are no technical reasons for the reduction in deliveries,” Mr Habeck told the German Agency, adding that “the turbine is ready for delivery to Russia”.
Russia is “violating its contractual obligations and blaming others” for this, Mr Habeck insisted. “Putin is playing a two-faced game. He is trying to weaken the great support for Ukraine and divide our society. To achieve this, it creates uncertainty and raises prices. We face it with unity and focused actions. We receive precautions to get through the winter” he said characteristically.
Mr Hambek explained that building liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure, filling storage tanks and reducing gas consumption are the key means for this.
He added that the documents for its export from Siemens Energy have been completed, but Moscow is refusing to provide the required documents for its import.
Earlier yesterday the Russian energy giant Gazprom announced that it has reduced the supply of gas to Germany through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline from 40% to 20% of its capacity.
THE Siemens assured that it is ready to transfer the spare part to Russia immediately, but spoke of delays in the required supporting documents.
