According to a member of the House of Representatives committee responsible for the armed forces, 80% of Russia’s ground forces operating in the fields are bogged down and tired
An American congresswoman said yesterday that Washington is calculating how over 75,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or wounded in the war in Ukraine, which broke out on February 24.
Elisha Slotkin, a Democratic politician who sits on the House Armed Services Committee, attended a briefing on war developments by Joe Biden administration officials, the contents of which were theoretically classified.
However, Ms. Slotkin said in an interview with CNN that “we have been informed that over 75,000 Russians have been killed or wounded,” a number she described as “huge,” pointing to Russia’s “incredible investment (in) ground forces.” He also said that “80% of the ground forces (of Russia operating in the fields) he is stuck and tired».
But “we always talk about the Russian army”, he added.
The most recent assessment of the American spy agency, the CIA, spoke of 15,000 Russian military dead at the war.
Moscow does not release official figures on Russian military casualties in the conflict, which is now in its sixth month.
The number to which the American politician referred is impossible to independently verify.
