Four people were injured and are being treated in critical condition by lightning which fell near the White House. Lightning struck Lafayette Square across from the White House yesterday during a severe thunderstorm.
The four people, two men and two women, were standing near a tree located a few meters away from the fence surrounding the presidential residence and offices. They were taken to a local hospital and are fighting for their lives.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post reported that it was the result of a large storm that swept through the city in the evening, with strong winds and bad weather.
