The Monegasque then picked up the pace and put a lot of pressure on Russell, eventually passing him on lap 31. At the same time, Verstappen was gnawing away at his gap from 3rd Saint.
On the 40th lap, Ferrari chose to put the hard rubber on Leclerc, a strategy that ultimately proved disastrous for the “reds”. Leclerc was uncompetitive after this change and Verstappen passed him easily, before the Dutchman spun, giving Leclerc the lead again.

Eventually, the Brit managed to pass Saint, ending a bad day for the Ferrari team, while just before the finale he also overcame his barrier Russell, finishing 2nd! Russell completed his effort in 3rd place, while the first ten were completed by Saint, Perez, Leclerc, Norris, Alonso, Ocon and Vettel!
