Erdogan opens fronts: Shots against Israel, Sweden, Finland and the USA

“The Al-Aqsa Mosque is a red line for Turkey” – “There will be no winner in the Russo-Turkish war”

Many diplomatic fronts seem to be opening up Tayyip Erdogan, who on Monday lashed out at Israel, Sweden and Finland, as well as the US, for not extraditing Fethullah Gulen, while insisting Turkey would launch new operations in Syria. As far as Russian-Ukrainian is concerned, he kept an even distance.

“We will continue our fight against terrorism”

The Turkish president spoke on Monday about a new operation to clean up the PKK in Syrian territory, as reported by the Anatoli agency.

“We will continue our fight against terrorism. Our decision to establish a 30-kilometer deep security line along our southern border does not change,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a speech to Turkish diplomats attending the 13th Ambassadors’ Conference in Ankara.

“I hope that we will soon unite the parts of this safe zone by clearing the last areas where the terrorist organization is nesting in Syria,” he added.

Erdogan said Turkey has shown the world that there is “no room for terrorism” in Turkey’s future.

“The Al-Aqsa Mosque is a red line for Turkey”

Regarding Israeli operations in Gaza, Erdogan said: “There is no justification for killing children, infants. Turkey stands by the Palestinian people and their brothers from Gaza.”

After new attempts by Israelis to storm the Jerusalem mosque, Erdogan said Al-Aqsa is a “red line” for Turkey.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry also called on Israel not to allow actions that target the status and sanctity of the Haram al-Sharif and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Erdogan added that Turkey made clear to the Israeli government at the highest level its sensitivity on the Jerusalem issue, stressing that Ankara supports a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine.

An Egyptian-brokered ceasefire in the Gaza Strip between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group was announced on Sunday, ending three days of Israeli airstrikes.

“There will be no winner in the Russo-Turkish war”

Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, Turkey has maintained that “there will be no winner,” President Erdogan said, adding: “In meetings with both (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky and (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, We emphasized that problems must be resolved through dialogue.

Erdogan said that despite the obstacles, Turkey continued efforts and ensured the implementation of last month’s grain corridor agreement.

“Ships are sailing as you know right now. Thus, we contributed to the security of global supply at a time when the food crisis was looming. So far, we have managed to operate this agreement without facing any serious problems,” said the Turkish president.

Threats in Sweden, Finland – Shots also fired against the US

Erdogan has warned that Turkey will not take a “positive stance” on Sweden and Finland’s efforts to join NATO unless they fulfill their promises to fight terrorism.

“We maintain a clear firm position on Finland and Sweden. The accession of these two countries to NATO will not be approved until the promises made to our country are fulfilled,” he insisted.

“Our country has been left alone in its battle not only with the PKK and its offshoots, but also with FETO. We do not accept that the leader of FETO (Fethullah Gulen) walks free despite the files full of documents we have handed over to the US authorities,” Erdogan said, referring to the US refusal to extradite Gulen, who lives in Pennsylvania, USA.

“No NATO country should be a haven for FETO rogues and PKK terrorists fleeing Turkish justice,” he added.

Turkey’s parliament must ratify the membership applications of Finland and Sweden to join NATO.
