The residence of former US President Donald Trump in Florida was the target of a search operation carried out by the FBI, the US federal police, on Monday. According to the country’s press, agents were looking for documents that Trump would have taken with him when he left the White House and that belong to the government.
The operation comes at a time when a committee in the US House is investigating the January 6, 2021, invasion of the Capitol – and investigating Trump’s participation in the events of that day. In addition, the former president is a target of tax fraud in New York and election interference in Georgia.
In this Wednesday’s episode (10), Café da Manhã talks with the journalist and columnist of Sheet Lúcia Guimarães about what is known about the FBI operation and how the investigations against Trump influence the US political scenario, which has midterm elections this year.
