Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the US CDC, will retire from the federal agency in December to “pursue the next chapter” of his career, US President Joe Biden confirmed, praising his work during the coronavirus pandemic.
“I could call him any time of the day for his advice as we dealt with this once-in-a-generation pandemic. His commitment to the work is unwavering, and he does so with unparalleled spirit, energy and scientific integrity,” Biden said in a statement.
