Britain has announced that Russia has no moral right to participate in the G20, while it continues to exert pressure with its invasion of Ukraine.
The Russian embassy in London yesterday accused Britain of hypocrisy for a statement by the British Foreign Office last week, which questioned Russia’s “moral right” regarding its participation in the group of G20 member states.
Britain has announced that Russia has no moral right to participate in the G20, while it continues to exert pressure with its invasion of Ukraine.
“We consider such announcements, especially hypocritical, following the move by the United Kingdom and its NATO allies to damage the credibility (of the G20) by participating in illegal and aggressive military campaigns in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya and Syria, as well as in other countries in the Middle East and Africa,” the Russian embassy said in a statement.
Indonesia will host the upcoming G20 summit in November and has announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping will attend.
