Coronavirus: Ten million French made the booster dose

by

Ten million French people have taken the commemorative dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, Health Minister Olivier Veran announced tonight.

“10 million French people have taken their commemorative installment to maintain their protection against Covid. New appointments will continue to open daily so that all beneficiaries can make their commemorative installment on time,” he wrote on Twitter.

France has a population of 67 million and all citizens over the age of 18 are entitled to a commemorative dose.

Ten days ago, the announcement that all adults are now entitled to the booster dose sparked a high demand for appointments.

For the Minister of Health, there is no material difficulty that prevents the smooth conduct of the vaccination campaign with a booster dose that aims to create a firewall against the fifth wave of the epidemic.

Health officials reiterated on Friday that there would be no shortage of vaccine doses.

From January 15, the reminder dose will be mandatory for citizens aged 18-64 in order for their health pass to remain valid.

This does not mean that the vaccination must have taken place before this date, which simply corresponds to the entry into force of the mechanism: from January 15, the health pass of these people will be deactivated if they have not taken their booster dose for a maximum of 7 months. after the last dose.
