The Scottish Environment Agency (Sepa) has issued a flood warning for the whole country, with the exception of parts of the Western Isles and North West Highlands, before heavy rain is expected over the weekend.
Commenting on the Midwest Scotland alert, Seppa said: Cities and transport networks are particularly at risk.
“Impacts could include low-lying flooding and roads with difficult traffic conditions.” Isolated properties may also be at risk.
“Due to the localized nature of the heaviest rains, impacts may be isolated and not all locations will be affected.”

The orange warning was in effect from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Sunday, but a less severe yellow warning was issued for most of the country starting Saturday night.
