After a burgundy helicopter was dispatched from Windsor at 6:48 a.m. to pick him up from his home in Dumfries, Ayrshire, it arrived at the monarch’s bedside at 10:27 a.m.

His wife, the Duchess of Cornwall (now Queen) was already in Birkar and was moved to join her family.
