Tribute to “grandmother” Elizabeth, the late queen’s grandson attacked with his post
Prince Harry did not get to say goodbye to his grandmother alive as he arrived at Balmoral three hours after Queen Elizabeth’s death was officially announced. Photos of him in tears and visibly sad in the car that was transporting him went around the world.
In a post today, Harry paid tribute to his grandmother, saying that her unwavering grace and dignity remained constant throughout her life and that will now be her legacy.
“She was loved and respected around the world,” said Harry, who in 2020, along with his wife Meghan, stepped down from their royal duties.
“Grandma, although this final parting saddens us deeply, I will forever be grateful for all of our first encounters–from my earliest childhood memories with you, to the first time we met as the head of the Armed Forces , the first time you met my lovely wife and hugged your great-grandchildren,” Harry’s statement continued.
