In total, the government in Rome has allocated 64 billion euros since the beginning of the year to help families and businesses deal with the energy crisis.
The Italian Ministry of Finance underlined that there will be no increase in the public deficit and that the measures are mainly based on the improvement of tax collections.
“In total, the support measures correspond to 3.5% of our GDP, we are among the countries that have offered the largest social assistance,” concluded Mario Draghi.
