Nordic Monitor: Russia accuses Turkey of arming Bayraktar with chemical weapons

Russia claims it has more evidence to support claims that Ukraine may resort to such wars.

Russia accuses Turkey of equipping Bayraktar drones with chemical and biological weapons.

The Nordic Monitor website claims the above, citing secret documents stolen by the Russian intelligence services and which have been submitted to the UN Security Council.

Specifically, it states that the unmanned aircraft manufacturer Baykar Makina is involved in a plan to equip its drones so that they can be used in chemical-biological warfare at the request of Ukraine, with Turkey however denying the accusations.

“The documents show that the Kiev regime tried to gain access to technical features for the delivery of dangerous biological agents by air. Last year, Ukraine sent a request to Turkish manufacturer Baykar Makina about the possibility of equipping Bayraktar drones with equipment that allows them to spray more than 20 liters of aerosol while flying for more than 300 kilometers. If they are equipped with such a system and have a flight range of 300 kilometers, such a drone will pose a real threat of spraying dangerous biological aerosols over the territory of Russia,” Russia says.

“The UAV in question, manufactured in Turkey, is only used for airborne reconnaissance, surveillance and target elimination requirements. Its technical specifications do not include any system or mechanism that can be used as a biological weapon,” Turkey said on its side.

Russia claims it has more evidence to support claims that Ukraine may resort to such wars.

“It is alarming that on March 9, three unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with 30-liter canisters and equipment for spraying formulations were discovered in Kherson province by the reconnaissance units of the Russian troops. In January 2022, Ukraine allegedly purchased, through intermediary organizations, more than 50 such devices that can be used to apply biological preparations and toxic chemicals,” said the Russian permanent representative to the UN.
