“In the Black Sea, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean there is a Turkey with a strong army, strong diplomacy and is determined to defend its rights,” said the Turkish President.

The tension caused by Cavusoglu’s false accusations of allegedly harassing Turkish fighters was continued by Recep Tayyip Erdogan from the United States, with new incendiary statements.

“In the Black Sea, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean there is a Turkey with a strong army, strong diplomacy and is determined to defend its rights,” said the Turkish President.

“It is something that cannot be tolerated by the international community and in no way obviously neither terrorizes, nor scares, but neither does it drag our country down,” the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and Government Spokesman Yannis Oikonomou has said in response to the Turkish provocations.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be in New York tomorrow for the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization, in the context of which Nikos Dendias has important contacts with their European counterparts.

However, the nationalist and Erdogan’s government partner, Devlet Bakhceli, carried out a personal attack against the prime minister yesterday, hurling threats against Greece.

“The Prime Minister of Greece declared that instead of night we should come with day. We’ll gladly come running, cover your day like it’s night, and make you pay many times over for your harassment,” he said.

In any case earlier, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, gave a stern response to the Turkish provocations, rejecting Cavusoglu’s false accusations of allegedly harassing Turkish fighters while stressing that Greek sovereignty is non-negotiable.
