When the woman became unresponsive and ignored the unidentified man, police say he dragged her to the floor and slammed her against a wall, punched and kicked her in the face and body
Police have arrested a man in connection with a violent attack inside a Queens subway station that was caught on camera. It all happened on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, with authorities noting that a man approached a 33-year-old woman and tried to strike up a conversation with her, according to ABC, and then followed her to the mezzanine.
When the woman became unresponsive and ignored the unidentified man, police said, he dragged her to the floor and slammed her against a wall, punched and kicked her in the face and body.
A bystander tried to intervene, but the man walked away as soon as he saw him. A short time later, the police arrested the suspect.
The victim, who appears to be a security guard, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for a serious but non-life threatening eye injury.
“Do you know how scared I am right now? I was never a person who was afraid,” said victim Elizabeth Gomes. “He was talking about the devil. He was talking about a bunch of nonsense,” she said.
Gomes’ husband is devastated and furious. The suspect, 41-year-old Waheed Foster, is charged with felony assault.
In 1995, police sources say, Foster was arrested for murdering his 82-year-old step-grandmother after a brutal beating. He was only 14 years old.
Six years later, he was arrested for stabbing his 21-year-old sister with a screwdriver. Then, in 2010, he was arrested for assaulting three workers at the Creedmore Psychiatric Center, where he was being treated.
