Anthony Blinken also stated that he understands that the leaks found in the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines will not have a significant impact on Europe’s energy resilience.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said today that the United States and its allies “will never recognize” Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian territory during a press conference.

“We ourselves and many other countries have been clear. We will not recognize, we will never recognize, the annexation of Ukrainian territory to Russia,” Blinken stressed, as Russia and the authorities of the territories it has occupied in Ukraine said that “yes ” had a large lead in the “referendums” for annexation.

Speaking at the same press conference alongside his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Anthony Blinken also said he understood the leaks found in the Nord Stream gas pipelines would not have a significant impact on Europe’s energy resilience.

The head of US diplomacy also said that the United States has not yet confirmed initial reports that the leaks may be the result of an attack or sabotage, but stressed that if the leaks were due to sabotage, it would not be in anyone’s interest.

Israel does not recognize the results of the referendums either

Israel announced tonight that it too will not recognize the results of referendums held in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

“Israel recognizes the (national) sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and will not recognize the results of the referendums in the eastern regions of Ukraine,” the foreign ministry said.

Moscow and the local authorities of the four regions (Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhia) claimed today that, based on the first results of the referendums, residents voted overwhelmingly in favor of their integration into Russia.

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February, Israel has adopted a rather cautious stance as it maintains close relations with both countries. Among other things, he refrained from supplying Ukraine with weapons, but he did send defensive equipment, such as helmets and bulletproof vests.

On Sunday, Israel’s ambassador to Kyiv announced that his country would take over the treatment of 20 Ukrainian soldiers injured in clashes with Russian forces.
