Category 3 Hurricane Ian in Florida: Dramatic flood warning, ‘life threatening’ from governor

Tampa and St. Petersburg are expected to receive the strongest wave of the massive weather phenomenon

Storm Ian was upgraded to a category 3 hurricane in the last hours, which made its destructive passage through the Dominican Republic and Cuba and has now reached its peninsula Florida.

The governor of Florida Ron DeSandis issued a dramatic warning to local residents as forecasters predict major flooding and danger, even to the lives of large numbers of citizens.

“What we’re dealing with is truly historic,” the governor said, referring to large-scale flooding.

Ian the blind man heads to the coast of Florida with winds of 125 mphwhile the volume of water it carries is enormous.

According to scientists, the Tampa and St. Petersburg area are expected to take the brunt of the massive weather event.
