The kid looks like he’s getting a cold and is about to cry while mom Lara sounds excited and urges him to keep going.

The public outcry, with comments such as “someone needs to call Welfare NOW” on Twitter, was sparked by the move by Lara Trump – wife of Eric Trump, son of Donald Trump – to take her 5-year-old boy outside as Hurricane Ian swept through the area.

In fact, mum Lara also uploaded a video on social media of little Luke getting wet and driving – clearly not enjoying it – a remote control car in the rain outside their home in Jupiter, Florida.

The kid looks like he’s getting a cold and is about to cry while Lara sounds excited and urges him to continue.

“We built character,” Lara captioned the video on Instagram with the… footnote: “Stay safe everyone!”

Also, a little later she uploaded a photo of her little daughter “playing with the rain”…

Of course, while there were some who found the hurricane kids’ posts ‘cute’ – the ensuing uproar and angry tweets prompted husband Eric Trump to issue an explanation and defend his wife: “‘The heavens opened while they did walk the dogs. The rain came out of nowhere and Lara and the kids were 50 meters away from our house…. (Nothing bad happened) it was just two kids having fun.”
