Harriet was found by a passer-by 1,610 kilometers from her home and reunited with her owner thanks to the microchip she was wearing.
Anyone who has ever had or has a pet and has lost it for even half an hour will be able to feel the joy of Susan Moore from California when she found her lost cat after nine whole years!
“Harriet” had disappeared nine years ago from her ranch in California. Susan had taken her from a shelter a few months after she was born. They all moved to the country together and two years after the adoption “Harriet” disappeared.
Moore said she “did everything” to find her. After almost 10 years it was found in the town of Hayden, Idaho by a passer-by 1,000 miles away.
Because the cat was microchipped, the Center found its old family.
So Susan got a surprise phone call from Idaho’s Companions Animal Center: “We found your cat, Harriet.”
“When [η οικογÎνεια] answered and we told them we have their cat, they were speechless,” said center manager Vicky Nelson.
The details of how the cat managed to make such a long journey remain unknown…
