According to the Ukrainian military, Russian soldiers are hiding in the forests in fear
Ukrainian troops are rapidly advancing on the eastern front, recapturing critical areas in an operation to release city’s Yabil Tu Donetsk.
Testimonies of Ukrainians, recorded in a Sky news report, according to which Russian soldiers “hide in the forest or in bombed buildings, scared and desperate, take off their uniforms and try to disguise themselves as civilians”.
The Russian soldiers, the report says, can’t get away fast enough so they quit and ask to be caught prisoners.
“We found some earlier today,” said a Ukrainian soldier, named Andrey, adding that the Russians were trying to escape from Liman – a key city that was liberated a few days ago and had been used as a vital Russian transport hub.
In fact, he claims that “some of the Russian soldiers have been lost because they don’t have navigation and so they just surrender to us. They have no other choice. It’s cold now and they want to eat.”
