At the same time, Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan once again showed the support that one country offers to the other, with Moscow openly expressing its desire to transform Turkey into an energy hub.
Makaiv, Bahmut and Milove in the target of the Russians
From early this morning, Russia launched a series of missile attacks, once again spreading panic among the residents of Kiev and the surrounding areas. Three drones, operated by Russian forces, struck the small town Makaribwest of Kiev, resulting in critical infrastructure being hit by Iranian-made kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles. Makariv is located just 55 kilometers west of Kiev with Russian forces getting ever closer to the Ukrainian capital.
At the same time, pro-Russian forces claimed today that they are at its gates Bahamutafter occupying two villages near this city in eastern Ukraine, which they have been trying to capture since the summer.
At the same time the Kherson is again the target of attacks. The British Ministry of Defense warned earlier today that Russian troops appeared to be attempting to stabilize themselves along a new front line west of Milove village, in the southern Ukrainian region of Kherson.
“Fierce fighting continues along this line, particularly on its western edge, where the advance of Ukrainian forces means that Russian forces are no longer flanked by the Inhulets River,” the ministry said on Twitter.
Shortly thereafter, the Russian-appointed governor of the Ukrainian region, Vladimir Saldo came to confirm the fierce fighting by appealing to the residents of Kherson to leave immediately due to the serious damage caused by Ukrainian missiles which, as he said, “hit hotels, residences, markets – where there are many civilians”.
Fierce battles are also developing in city of Lviv with air defense sirens sounding since the morning where, as the regional chief stated, a military installation was hit without any casualties.
Putin-Erdogan meeting
And while Russian forces are opening new fronts in Ukraine, the Russian president Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in Astana in Kazakhstan, with the main topic of discussion on conversion of Turkey into energy hub.
“It would be a platform where we could set prices at a normal market level without political ramifications,” the Russian president appeared to have told Erdogan, also praising Russian-Turkish joint projects such as Turkish Stream.
However, the war in Ukraine does not appear to have been on the discussion table between the two men according to the Kremlin.
