British Media: The resignation of Liz Truss is only a matter of time

A member of the 1922 Tory Commission has said the odds are against Liz Truss to see out the day as prime minister, according to ITV.

Breaking news on the developments in the Conservative party and the deepest political crisis in the government facing Prime Minister Liz Truss has all the British media.

With the word “chaos” describing the developments, several British newspapers are circulating today, with articles stating that the Prime Minister has lost control and the trust of her party and government.

A member of the Conservative Party’s 1922 Committee, which sets the rules for choosing and changing the Tory leader, said that the odds are against Liz Truss to see out the day as Prime Ministeraccording to a report by a journalist of the ITV network.

The 1922 Commission is expected to meet later to discuss the Tory leadership crisis, ITV political editor Paul Brandt tweeted.

In his live BBCpolitical editor Chris Mason says it is “difficult to see how Truss can go on like this for long” while seven Tory MPs have called for her resignation.

On the website of Guardian says the “government is on the brink” while Conservative MP Simon Hoare said today and tomorrow are “crucial days”.

That Sky News writes that “Liz Truss’s prime ministership hangs by a thread” and publishes a photo outside No. 10 Downing Street with dozens of TV crews, journalists and cameras preparing for the developments.

It also states that so far 13 members of the government are asking for her resignation.

Tras has seen her prestige crumble, with public opinion rejecting her and MPs from her own party questioning her.

She has already been forced to abandon almost all of her economic program – after it caused huge market turmoil – she has sacked her Finance Minister Kwasi Kwarteng, and last Wednesday she lost her Home Secretary Suella Braverman.
